Filecoin has not been released since the $ 250 million ICO in mid-2017. The opening of the main network of decentralized storage platform will be at the end of July at the earliest according to the new schedule. The statement made by the Filecoin team stated that as a result of the security inspections carried out on the project, it was decided that the developers should make a series of changes before moving on to the second phase of the test network. Developed by Protocol Labs, Filecoin is built on the peer-to-peer data storage network InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and aims to allow users to trade storage in an open market. Earlier, the main network was intended to become operational in March 2020, but the team decided to delay it for another six weeks because of the coronavirus. Now it is planned to move to the second phase of the test network in the week of May 11. The main network will open between July 20 and August 21, if there is no delay again.
