Jair Renan, the youngest son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, broadcasts PUBG on Twitch. A comment by Renan, 22, who shared the same opinion about the coronavirus with his father during the live broadcast, caused his account to be permanently banned. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro attended a demonstration in the past weeks where protests against COVID-19 were protested and said “a small flu” for the coronavirus. Jair Renan used the same phrase for the coronavirus during a live broadcast on Twitch on Friday (May 1st). Renan’s comment on the outbreak caused her channel to close. Renan later announced on his Twitter account that his ban on Twitch was permanent. “I was banned from Twitch forever. It is interesting that the social network has overlooked the profiles of hate speech towards men, but it cannot even endure a joke,” he said. Renan’s use during the live broadcast, saying ‘I prefer to die by sex rather than coughing’ and his father’s repetition of ‘a little flu’ caused reactions. Renan also likened the opponents he killed in the game to opposition members of the Brazilian Workers Party and used the phrase ‘one-legged’ for people with disabilities. Renan also replied to the criticism of the Brazilian administration’s incapable attitude about the epidemic, “What happened? What do you want me to do? My name is Christ (actor Messiah), but I cannot create miracles”. Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro is also heavily criticized in the country for misrepresenting data about the coronavirus and being indifferent to the outbreak.
